What is IPTA?

IPTA® is a registered professional body which stands for Indian Physical Therapists Association. Founded by a group of enthusiastic and self-inspired professionals from Chennai and Mangalore, this association strives to establish Physical Therapy at its Best, as “The Most Sought After” profession in our country through better education, better practice, better research and better administration.

Why to become IPTA® member?

Benefits for IPTA® Student Members:

IPTA® understands that “Students are for the Future, the Real Future for the profession of Physical Therapy” and accordingly, the IPTA® student members:

1. Will be able to upgrade themselves in their professional knowledge and competency with the academic resources provided in the website directly and indirectly through links to other professional web resources.

2. Will be able to provide better clinical care and professional service for their patients through enhanced skills in physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques through attending Continuing Professional Development Programmes of the IPTA® and also the other academic events happening around the world, by being exclusively informed from the IPTA® website.

3. Will be able to improve their research knowledge and skills, for their scientific contribution towards the physical therapy profession in their undergraduate research projects, presentations and publications.

4. Will be able to contribute towards the betterment of physical therapy profession by actively co-ordinating with respective IPTA® Faculty and IPTA® Principal members of their institution and form a very strong foundation at every institutional level.

5. Will be able to transform themselves into a better physical therapist theoretically, practically and morally for better care of their patients, their own future students and the physical therapy profession.

6. Will be listed in the IPTA® Student Members’ Directory of this Website.

Benefits for IPTA® Physio Members:

IPTA® understands that physical therapists (undergraduates and above) are the actual constitution of the association and also the profession. Hence, as an Physio member, he/she:

1. Will be able to facilitate, co-ordinate and organize changes in the academic curricula of undergraduate and post graduate fields of study as a faculty.

2. Will be able to initiate, involve and perform towards establishment of best practice guidelines and clinical practice guidelines for better treatment of patients as a clinician.

3. Will be able to creatively innovate new directions, paths towards identifying and developing best teaching, practice and research methods.

4. Will be recognized as a better professional by the improved contact and communication with the common man since they are more involved too with the association.

5. Will be regarded as a better human being by significant others by virtue of being an member, being part of service-oriented clinical activities like camps.

6. Will be able to procure grants towards presentations, research and publications not only from the association but also from the government agencies.

7. Will be improvising his/her sources of income by multifaceted professional development in teaching, practice and research.

8. Will be part of a global team of professionals working together towards academic, clinical, research and administrative upliftment in physical therapy.

9. Will be listed in the IPTA® Physio Members’ Directory of this Website, which would then be available on “google powered” search for direct contact and access to patients and/or needed others.

Benefits for IPTA® Non Physio Members:

IPTA® understands that common man and/or patient and/or medical and/or non-medical professionals form the major part of the target population. Hence as an IPTA® Non Physio Member, he/she:

1. Will be voicing their concerns and giving productive contribution from the “people’ side” view of Physical Therapy profession in the IPTA® Newsletter.

2. Will be involving as an active informer donning administrative roles within the association. 3. Will be working for the people’s health and welfare through the association and its activities by actively co-ordinating with fellow public in the areas of their focus.
